Leung’s Ramblings

Yesterday was the last day. But when I REALLY think about it, I truly cannot believe that I have finished yet another year of school. Everything seems to be flying by. I’m growing up so fast; cheesy but true. But anyway, here’s somethings I remember from the 2007-08 school year.

I REMEMBER:
freshman orientation. first tennis match. tennis districts. orchestra/band concerts. the faculty christmas play. first mid-terms. bottom locker. the teachers. the lunch table. skipping AR points for the first trister. my 107% in english. freshman committee thing. freshman career day. freshman awards. essays for english. yearbook fiasco. senior crushes (there were a few. soccer players. :)). being sorta in the musical. FLF. male cheerleaders. pep assemblies. getting a 2 at contest. watching mythbusters in science. kendyl and her little contests at wendy’s. the tennis bus. getting up extra early to be on time for my ride. finishing a book in less than 2 weeks. a day no pigs would die. romeo and juliet. the quadratic formula song!! kirchoff’s outbursts. making food in life skills. making my mini room in life skills 2. sewing pillows. sick STDs slide show. the dumb bellringers in health. watching tv shows on my ipod in health. the stupidness of orchestra. the seniors in orch. sitting next to you-know-who (ick..). the freshman circle. cracking up in english because of carr. having a heavy backpack going home. walking home. some sick convos at lunch. having a sinking feeling in my stomach when i didnt finish my homework. senior’s graduation. getting straight A’s all year. snow days. and the last day. BEING A BEAR!

I WISH:
I wish and hope that I would stop caring so much about what others think. I hope that I will be more involved next year. I wish I could just say what i feel. I wish I would just stop procrastinating.

ADVICE TO THE NEW:
Enjoy your first year; it goes by fast. Not even kidding. Don’t use a tray, you’ll look weird. Get involved; you’ll make friends and you’ll do things you’ve probably never done. Go to the dances and games; you’ll feel bad later if you don’t. Don’t slack on your work; you’ll REGRET it. Not even kidding. And stock up on extra credit; f you take a slip, it won’t be as bad. What do you have to lose!? Watch who you talk to, remember you’re considered as a stupid freshman now.

So according to myfoxkc.com, there’s a tug of war. Tulsa claims him, but I KNOW that KC is pretty much his home. I mean he did grow up here. He went to elementaryschool, high school, even worked around the area. When it was homecoming week, he CAME BACK to KC. On Jay Leno, he said that he went home to KANSAS CITY! In my own opinion, David Cook belongs to Kansas City. Maybe he wasn’t born here, but he was certainly RAISED. And he was only in Tulsa for a tiny bit of his life. Therefore, I say, KC wins this one. 

DAVID COOK!!!
David Cook is proclaimed winner of American Idol. It was a extreme win with 12 million votes over David A.
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?
The hometown idol. I live in the metro area where David C. is from! WOW! I am so estatic, as you can imagine. I even cried… not even a joke.
I still can’t believe it! I guess my votes really did count!!
CONGRATS DC! YOU MADE IT BIG!! NO JOKE!!!

Who ever thought I’d scream for a graduate?
Well I did, and it was LOUD.
The applause was dying and I screamed, “GO ANITAAA!”
My voice even cracked!! (ha!)
Not even kidding.
After doing it I was like, “Did I really just do that?”
Congrats class of 2008!
You did it.

This weekend was SERIOUSLY not a good weekend to write a paper. HA!
Ohhh well, I have 101% in that class.

I REALLY can’t believe it’s your time.
I remember the days where you’d come over and we’d play teacher and color together.
I know we haven’t been all that close for the past 4-6 years,
but I want you to know how proud I am of you.
Even though you are like 2 years older than me.
And as I am about to attend  your graduation party, I just want to tell you something.

Congratulations girl! You made it through 4 years of drama, homework, tests, tennis, guard, and French homework!
Keep working hard, I know you’ll make it just fine.
I KNOW you’ll not only reach the stars but also be one.
Thanks for the rides this year. I know I must have been fairly annoying.

Seniors Last Day.
As much as I think it’s unfair,
I am pretty sure that I’m going to be pretty upset when the day’s over.

Okay. Maybe not SUPER Super Good. But it was pretty great if not awesome.
Especially the last song.
Man, I was seriously SCREAMING my head off. No joke, seriously.
In all seriousness, I AM STILL VOTING!

So tomorrow is Seniors Last Day. Which means that there’s a senior assembly. My cousin is a senior. She said that I should go. You know, to kill time. Plus tomorrow is a block day. So today over the announcements, they say if you’re a freshie or soph. you need to get a permission slip to get out of class if you want to go. I go to the House Office after 3rd block. I say, “I need a permission slip for the senior assembly.” She ask for and writes my name down on the sheet. She says, “Are you Anita’s sister?” I tell her yes, even though that’s not true. She then logs onto the computer. It takes a while and she says, “I’m just verifying the address to make sure you guys live in the same house.” I’m thinking, CRAP. Because obviously we don’t live under the same roof. So then I blurt out the fact that I’m actually her cousin. She gives me a look and thinks about it and goes to check with one of the admins. He says, “It’s suppose to be only for siblings.” She looks at me and says, sorry. And I walk out feeling somewhat embarrassed. Walking to 4th block and while in 4th block, I ponder on what I could have said instead so that I could actually go. Here’s what I came up with:
1) Our parents separated.
2) We live in different houses because of a divorce.
3) We’re step-sisters.
4) We’re really really super close and it’s important that I be there.
I think the thrid one would have probably worked the best. Too bad I’m not good at lying. Bleh. So I’m not going to be able to see what it’s like to be a senior on Seniors last day. I really wanted to go too. Poop.

first, i’d just like to wish everyone a HAPPY DAVID COOK DAY!!
it was truly an awesome day for me. no joke at all.
i really wanted to go the concert but since there were only like 10,000 tickets, they sold out within hours.
i even left the house this morning watching FOX 4 HOPING to see part of his interview.
but my madre shooed me out of the house.. kinda dumb. i wanted to skip school today.
anyway today was assembly schedule. so classes were like 40 mins long. had a test in science. billions of worksheets in spanish, a new math lesson, making our mini rooms in life skills 2, working on our little packets for our novel in english (which was due today and i STILL havent finished it. procrastination kills people), filling out charts and doing bellringers in health, to studying for the final in orchestra. the AMAZING cassie taylor was asking people what they were doing after school. then i was like why. She said that she was going to the DAVID COOK PARADE and wanted someone to go with her. guess who that person was? ME!! after the LONGEST assembly i have ever sat through, we literally DARTED out the door once the bell rang hoping to get at Blue Springs South before 3. we finally got there around 2.40ish. boy was there a traffic jam in the neighborhoods. it seriously should have been a ONE WAY on some streets. but after about 10-15 minutes we parked in a business parking lot and basically ran all the way up to the school. the parade started like almost an hour late. but it was worth waiting for. there were THREE helicopters!! THREE! one was SKY FOX (duh), the KCTV one, and the NBC one. dont know where the KMBC one was. but he is seriously very good looking. who ever knew there’d be an American Idol star from the KC area! GO DAVID COOK! MEGAN LEUNG LOVES YOU!!

i am ready for the complaints.
i am ready for the disses.
and i am ready for the stupidness.
and for the “i am better at math than you” crap.
but i am not going to get down about it.
because i dont care what you think about america.
or how crappy a country you think it is, because you’re not living here forever. (THANK GOODNESS!)
and because i am better a lot better at math than you think i am because high school doesnt just require mulitplication. it involves quatratics, exponets, square roots, and parabolas, and EQUATIONS!!! believe it or not, in order to pass math here, you need more than just to know your MULITPLICATION FACTS.
so if you want to dis me for how big i’ve gotten since you last saw me, GO AHEAD because that’s what happens when you havent seen someone in 4 years!! YOU GROW!!

i REALY hope this visit feels shorter than it looks. 3 weeks of crappy-ness. great joy.
